Acetal/Polyoxymethylene/Pom
Service Temperature -40° to + 90°C
Low coefficients of friction and good wear characteristics. Low moisture absorption and FDA approval for food contact. Machinable to tight tolerances with good surface finish. Available in Rod, Sheet, Block, Tube and Filled Grades.
Uses:
Acrylic/Polymethyl Methacrylate/PMMA
Service Temperature -40° to + 50°C
Has a transparency better than glass and hard surface. Can be machined to good finish and excellent UV resistance. Good mechanical rigidity and stability/poor fatigue resistance. Available in Rod, Sheet, Block and Tube – Colours available.
Uses:
Nylon/Polyamide/PA
Service Temperature -40° to + 80° C
Various Grades offering high strength and toughness. Good wear/abrasion resistance and works well alongside metals at low/high temperatures. Machines well and ideal for heavy duty environment. Available in Rod, Sheet, Block, Tube & Filled Grades
Uses:
Polycarbonate/PC
Service Temperature -40° to + 115° C
Very high impact strength over a range of temperatures. Clear and Tinted sheet grades have good clarity. Machines well and ideal for Fabrications. Available in Rod, Sheet, Block, Tube & Filled Grades.
Uses:
Polyethylene/Polyolefines/PE300/500/1000 Grade
Service Temperature -40° to + 80° C
Versatile and excellent chemical/abrasion resistance. Food and drink safe, machineable and fabricates well. Impact, wear and abrasion properties improve in higher grades. Available in Rod, Sheet, Block, Tube, filled Grades and colours.
Uses:
Polypropylene/PP
Service Temperature -5° to + 100° C
Versatile and excellent chemical resistance. Poor UV resistance and rapid oxidation in contact with copper. Hardest and stiffest Polyolefine with higher temperature performance. Fabricates well and machinable. Available in Rod, Sheet, Block & Tubes.
Uses:
PVC/Polyvinyl Chloride/PVC (u)
Service Temperature -20° to + 50° C
Good acid and alkali resistance, good UV resistance and clear grades are available. Good tensile strength in its temperature range. Fabricates and machines well for indoor and outdoor uses. Available in Rod, Block & Sheet.
Uses:
PVDF/Polyvinylidene Fluoride
Service Temperature – (Homo) – 0 (Copol) -40° to + 150° C
Low creep and desirable corrosion resistance. High operating temperatures and good mechanical properties combined with chemical inertness makes good for Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food Industries. Available in various stock shapes.
Uses:
PTFE/Polytetra Flouroethylene
Service Temperature -200° to +180° C
Tough & High elongation at break but with no significant mechanical strength. Great chemical inertness, electrical resistance and very low coefficient of static and dynamic friction – In fact the best of any solid material. Machines very well and available in various filled grades. Rod, Sheet, Block & Tubes.
Uses:
Thermosets/Phenolic & Epoxy Laminates/Tufnol
The oldest type of Engineering plastic with a wide range of performance criteria. Excellent electrical insulator light in weight but stiff and strong – Minimal creep and good load bearing. Can machine and will fabricate. Fabric and paper grades available also with glass fibre fillers in Rod, Sheet, Block & Tube.
Uses:
Steels & Alloys
We now have the facility to Turn/Mill (CNC and conventional) most steel and alloy requirements.
