We recently produced a series of durable, wear-resistant components for a food processing client, focusing on materials that meet stringent food safety standards. Using CNC milling and turning, we precisely manufactured parts from oil-filled nylon, food-grade polyethylene, and virgin PTFE. Each of these materials was selected to withstand the harsh, high-wear conditions typical in food processing environments while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Oil-filled nylon was chosen for its self-lubricating properties and wear resistance, which reduce friction and extend the life of parts that experience continuous motion. Food-grade green polyethylene, identifiable by its distinctive green color, ensures that components are both durable and safe for direct contact with food. Meanwhile, virgin PTFE—a highly non-stick, chemically resistant material—was used for parts that require low friction and easy cleaning, adding an extra layer of hygiene and performance.
Together, these materials and the precision of plastic CNC machining deliver parts that are built to handle the demands of the food industry, offering reliability, easy maintenance, and long-term performance.
