About WKH

Established in 1992

Our Story

WKH Group is a family-owned and operated business, established in 1992.

For over thirty years we've provided specialised precision engineering services to business all across the United Kingdom - from the smallest of parts to the biggest of projects.

WKH-Old-Office

1992

Assisted by the Enterprise Allowance, a government incentive providing fifty pounds a week for the first year of business, Wayne Kevin Huddleston (WKH) established the company in 1992.

Operating out of a shipping container, our initial focus was primarily on fabrication, with a specialization in Polypropylene tanks and bunds. Despite humble beginnings, Unit 25 proved to be a valuable asset and played a pivotal role in our early success.

WKH-Old-Office

1993 - 1994

By 1993 - 1994, we had successfully established strong connections with several prominent chemical and process companies.

Additionally, securing a contract to develop and manufacture Acrylic vehicle light boxes for the RAC marked a significant milestone for us.

With these achievements, our operations were in full swing, and it was time to expand our team by hiring new employees.

CNC

1995 - 2000

In 1995 we took a step forward as a business, introducing machining of industrial plastics, albeit on a small scale initially.

However, by the year 2000, recognising the growing demand and the necessity for precision in the components we were producing, we made a significant investment in CNC milling and routing equipment. This investment enabled us to enhance our capabilities and cater effectively to the evolving needs of our customers.

WKH Offices

2001 - 2002

In 2001, we expanded our operations by acquiring one of our competitors, Bell Perking Plastics, and integrating their capabilities into our business. This strategic move bolstered our position in the market and allowed us to offer an even wider range of services to our customers.

The following year, in 2002, marked a significant milestone as we relocated to our purpose-built premises. This move provided us with a modern and efficient workspace tailored to our needs, setting the stage for further growth and development.

WKH 2024 and beyond

2024

Despite the challenges posed by the unusual circumstances of 2020, we have persevered and continued to experience growth as a company.

Our commitment to excellence and the quality of the components we produce, coupled with our presence in diverse industries, positions us strongly for success as we move into the next decade.

We remain optimistic about our future prospects and are confident in our ability to thrive in the years ahead.
